Our Kentucky deer hunts are the equivalent of hunting Illinois at ½ the price.  Our camp has the same quality bucks, more bucks, and a lot fewer hunters than what you will find in many of the popular deer hunting states.  We are 45 minutes from the Southern Illinois state line.

To the 2009 Hunters:

Thank you guys/gals so much for the many beautiful thank you notes related to your 2009 Kentucky Deer Hunt at Snipe Creek Lodge.

The many expressions of gratitude is a beautiful reward for the constant 12 months of work, thoughts, effort and the insane amount of experience/stand hours that goes into every Ky. whitetail hunt offered.

A lot of you were rewarded with a magnificent Ky. whitetail. A lot more of you missed the chance/shot on the Ky. Big Buck. That is universal, don't feel too bad.

Most all of you were rewarded with much more:

1) Knowledge that will minimize stand mistakes which will enhance all your future hunts.
2) Food plot "secrets" that will certainly enhance your future whitetail hunting.
3) Lifelong memories with your Dad, son, buddies, wife, husband, etc.

September/October Kentucky Bow Hunts

Kentucky bow hunting in September will offer many sightings and shot opportunities of mature Kentucky deer. Sept 4th to Sept. 15th will offer your best shot at a Kentucky velvet buck.

  • Deer require a 16% year round diet to reach their full potential
  • Our wildlife management plantings provide a 25+% protein diet, 365 days a year! (For 10 years now.)
  • Each generation (1 year) of deer improves with proper diet and nutrition.
  • We can now see "button bucks" with 1"- 4" spikes (amazing).
  • 1 1/2 yr old deer look like 2 1/2 yr olds
  • Mature does field dress 140 - 150 lbs.
    (A very important fact I must add.)
  
 
  Bobcats
There are many mature and wild bobcats on our management property available to harvest while you are deer hunting. December begins the bobcat rut, expect to see several cats in the Dec. hunts.

We have a Property Management Review and Supplemental Food Plot Guide that was prepared by Dave Edwards, Jr, Certified Wildlife Biologist from Westervelt Wildlife Services.
