Black Powder Hunt - December 13th - 22nd

Weather: Opening evening brisk winds arrive at 30mph and continue for 5 days

Hunter Results Were:

Opening morning "Sure Shot Joe" misses a 140 at 30 yards - Was with 12 does

On the 6th day this happened as told by the actual hunter:
"I had been in the stand for 15 minutes and all hell broke loose.  4 does busted down off the hill in front of me, followed by a 19 1/2" 8 pointer.  I dropped him at 50 yards. Before I had a chance to bask in my glory a cold dose of reality would be sent my way.  Not 2 minutes after shooting the above 8 pointer the 160+ 9 pointer that you see below was within 20 yards and stood within 20 yards for about 20 minutes.  At one point it was about 4 yards away.  The giant never spooked just went about his day like I was never there."

Note:  The 9 point is the same deer that is displayed on the website.  the picture which was taking in August.  he survives for the 2009 season.  Hunter, that got a long close look, believes it to be a 3 1/2 year old.  A true "Michael Jordan" of bucks.  Next year?
